Argon 8X brings the acclaimed wavetable synthesis of the Argon 8 series to a full 61-key stage format with a premium FATAR TP/9S keybed featuring velocity sensitivity and aftertouch. Its 32 high-resolution wavetable oscillators — 4 per voice — access 180 carefully crafted wavetables across 36 banks of 5 morphable waveform sets, augmented by a PWM bank and three noise/modulation banks on Oscillator 2. Vintage Parameter and Oscillator Free Run modes emulate the natural drift and unpredictability of vintage analogue instruments.

Oscillator Modifiers and Filters

32 static wavetable modifiers including de-rez, wave folders, waveshapers and phase shapers, alongside 8 oscillator modifier types — Phase Mod (FM), Ring Mod, Amp Mod, Hard Sync and Windowed Sync — create a vast harmonic palette. Eight filter types in 2-pole and 4-pole configurations shape the wavetable output with precision.

Modulation and Sequencing

Three dedicated envelope generators, two audio-rate LFOs with tempo sync, eight assignable modulation slots and four fixed routings drive the modulation architecture. A 512-note real-time/step sequencer with 4 powerful animation lanes and a 32-step arpeggiator handle pattern-based performance, with full MPE support for per-note expression.

Effects and Build

The three-slot FX engine covers Distortion, Drive, Chorus variants, Phaser, Flanger, Tremolo, LoFi, Rotary, Stereo/Ping-Pong/X-Over Delay and multiple Reverb algorithms. Housed in a rugged steel and aluminium chassis measuring 885 × 300 × 100 mm and weighing 9 kg, Argon 8X connects via USB, MIDI In/Out, dual 1/4" TS line outputs, a headphone output and a stereo audio input. MODALapp and 500 patch slots complete the package.
