The MB CGII is a mastering loudness processor plugin from Make Believe Studios, developed with Chris Gehringer, Senior Mastering Engineer and Partner of Sterling Sound. It pushes masters to competitive streaming loudness without sacrificing clarity, density or low-end weight. Density and Loudness stages raise perceived level while keeping transients intact. A true-peak limiter, dither and DC-block filter complete the chain. Nixie-tube meters show LUFS and True Peak.

Two Knobs, One Loud, Clear Master

Density pushes up previously masked low-level detail without affecting higher-level peak dynamics, while Loudness adds transparent RMS level through soft saturation. Oversampling up to 16x keeps added harmonics clean.

Built for Producers Who Want Loud Masters Fast

The MB CGII suits producers and mix engineers who want loud, modern masters without stacking five plugins on the master bus. Beyond the end of the master chain, it works in many places in a mix: the Loudness stage excites harmonics, the Density stage brings up bloom, and the true-peak lookahead limiter can be used on its own. Beginners get a simple two-knob layout with built-in LUFS metering. Experienced engineers value the transparent limiting. Dither covers 16 to 24 bits. It runs as a 64-bit AU, VST2, VST3 or AAX plug-in on Mac OS X 10.10 or newer (Intel or Apple Silicon) and as VST or AAX on Windows 7 or newer; licensing uses an iLok.com account with two activations, and an iLok dongle is optional. CGII is also supported in Metric Halo MIO Console.
